FSSAI advisory issued on April 3, 2024, directs e-commerce companies to remove certain drinks from the “Health Drinks/Energy Drinks” category. All e-commerce firms dealing with food products, must adhere to the FSS (Food Product Standards and Food Additives) Regulations 2011. Non-compliance with these guidelines under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, can result in penalties up to Rs 2 lakh.
